Origami Sail Boat

Day-7 Sail Boat

This is one can be termed as one of the simplest of origami instructions. The simple origami sail boat is a 2d design and takes hardly 2 minutes to fold.

It needs a triangular piece of paper. So I took a standard 1 side coloured square paper and folded it diagonally dividing the square into 2 triangle cut it into two and started with one triangle.

The sail boat would look the best if you have contrast coloured paper. The boat can be used for card making something like Bonn-voyage cards..

If you don't want to cut the square but still want to make the origami sail boat then you can follow the instructions at Howcast
.It has both diagram and video for the instructions also the sail boat looks really cool and can stand like a 3D model.I felt the video is really good and easy to follow.

An origami a day

Hey I am back and this time I have decided to try an origami instruction each day and post them here along with the link to the instruction ( a usual thing which I always do ).

So from now on I would folding an origami model daily for next one year and post my foldings here.I will also try to post the instructions or link to instructions if it is possible (To be read as link to the instructions to be posted as making videos seems difficult....)

I will try to put those creations into use(apart from show piece purpose)if possible.

So that means I would be trying some 365 Origami instructions picked randomly from internet.Hope to achieve my goal.

I found a similar and interesting idea called Origami calendar. The calendar is made of square papers ,each page/day has an origami instruction on its back and as the day is over you can tear up the page and try the origami instruction thus learning origami slowly and steadily ..

For those who want to buy the origami calendar they can buy it  here .

Note :- The link to the instruction means the source on internet from where I learnt it. I don't own rights of those .

Me and Origami

Long back I had wrote how I started with origami and my first model in my post Folding a paper crane.

Today I will tell you what drove we further into the fascinating world of Origami.
After reading about Origami and the fascinating story about Senbazuru the thousand paper cranes ,I started my mission of searching diagram and videos for folding a paper crane.During my this search I came across a website called Oriland.Oriland had a tab called kingdoms, when you go further into it you with find beautiful paper kingdoms. These kingdoms had castle, gardens, ships, boats, people, flowers ..... everything made out of thousands of colourful papers. It's a wonderful world of origami in there.

Further Origami fascinated me when I saw the the video talk by Robert Lang.

Well I think all this above is enough for raising interest in a person to start on Origami.

Good luck!
