Simple butterfly

This month I have decided to make origami butterfly.I started searching the internet for simple butterfly instruction .

Butterfly Model 1:-
The simplest butterfly design which I found was on a website dedicated to crafts Enchanted Learning .This design seemed to be too kiddish (NOM) for me.Another site for the instruction of the same model origami-instructions

Butterfly Model 2:-
I found another design on Create with me blogspot.This seemed 1 up in the difficulty level.

This Origami Butterfly design was created by Ralph Matthews from England. It is just one of the many Origami projects in the book called Minigami by Gay Merrill Gross published by Firefly books.

Its cute,easy and fast.This butterfly requires a rectangular sheet instead of a square sheet.I used a normal origami paper (one side white and one side colour).The butterfly looks cute when its small in size.

Kusudama - Butterfly

This kusudama is named “Butterfly Kusudama” in YAMAGUCHI Makoto’s book Kusudama Ball Origami.It has 60 units which consists of 12 flowers of 5 petals each.Its a glue fix model.

My first butterfly kusudama...
This is made of thicker paper using Post-it Notes of fluorescent orange and green colour.I haven't yet perfected the joins .





My next Butterfly kusudama :-
12 flowers made of 12 different colours.
Paper Origami sheets of 4.5 Inches Square one side blank.The squares are cut into 4 pieces each for making smaller flowers.

My Project :- Senbazuru

A month or 2 back I thought of folding the Origami cranes,rather a thousand origami cranes.The project got completed just recently on March 31.Here are a few photos of the thousand miniature cranes I folded.

The next task is to put the 1000 cranes into use.Soon I will post the photos for that too here...

Arabesque

Arabesque means a complex, ornate design of intertwined floral, foliate, and geometric figures or An intricate or elaborate pattern or design.

It is a modular structure or Floral ball (Kusudama) made of 30 units.
The model can be put together without glue. It is stable without glue too (but I was not luck to get a stable model so I glued to fix them up ).
The model has a few variations. You may try them.

Wikihow also contains manuals on Origami.At present wikihow contains 50 articles on Origami.The Orgami structures manual available now are not very complex .The manuals are uploaded by users.Keep searching in wikihow.May be you can find the manual for the origami structure you are searching for.:)
