Day 35- Origami Rooster

It’s a bird today .The traditional origami rooster. I have made it of 3*3 inch origami paper of pink colour. Though the colour and paper size choice is really bad but the folds came up good enough.

I would suggest you take contrast colour paper and bigger paper for the first time atleast.

Origami Star Box

Day 34 – Origami Star Box

This is a piece of really useful and handy origami. On complexity it’s simple .Its easy and fast to make.

If you make the box out of big and strong paper then you can use it as a box for gifting and storing too. If you make a small one then you can use it as a flower. I think a very small one would look like a nice flower and if make of contrasting colored paper it would look really nice. You can curl the openings to give the shape of petals.

The instructions speak of standard star box and the modified one.standard one can be used as flower too ( That’s what I felt) but the modified looks better as box. You can also use it as a small flower vase for ikebana.

Origami Peacock

Day 33 - Origami Peacock

This model can be categorised as simple but still I never got it correct. I suppose after the fifth try I got this structure to somewhat okay shape. No its not tough but I seem to miss out something somewhere while folding the neck and the beak of the peacock.

If you see the diagram and animation the neck portion seems to be almost 1/2 or 1/3 rd of the tail but mine has a shorter neck and it stands but little oddly.The neck fold is something I always mess up.

I have used a 3*3 Inch Origami paper for the model.


While posting the link of the instruction I realised the mistake and corrected the neck now its 2/3 length of the tail and the peacock looks a little better.

Origami Dragon

Day 32 - Origami Dragon

Take a really big paper to start with coz there are so many folds.Just kidding but yes its better to start with a bigger paper and yes a lot of patience.

I have taken a green paper of size 5 7/8 inches.Start with the origami bird base and follow the instructions really carefully in sequence dont skip a single step( I usually dont see the steps properly).

Here it is.



Does the beak look like broken instead of being fire and ferocious :P .



There a few intricate fold to give the dragon a furious look but if its a small paper the intricate parts folding becomes really tough.

Origami a day completion of a month

A very happy new year to all....... May all your wishes and resolutions come true this year.

Finally I have completed a month of " Origami a Day" mission.That means some 31 odd models.Learnt a lot from it.

Here is a collage of almost all the 31 models.
